Can anyone use the ancient traditions of the Orientals to loose weight and encourage health? As the world gains in prosperity, finding the balance between convenience and health remains a necessity of life.

Chinese have long been regarded as some of the healthiest people on the planet. They are known to be thin and have a good work ethic but are things changing as they become more prosperous? Recent concerns about obesity have spurred a new Chinese economy in the weight loss industry. The newly rich have begun to indulge in fast foods, sweets and driving a car instead of riding a bike. While obesity may be a rising concern in China, their tradition of tea drinking may be part of the cure right under their noses, a cure that can be shared with the rest of the world.

The problem is found among the young from affluent families in larger cities who now have all the food they want to eat. It was not very long ago that China was a very manual society where many things were done by hand. This kind of work produced a natural form of exercise that kept most in good health even when food was scarce. With the easier life style and ability to have others do the manual work, a relaxing of physical activity has added weight to some Chinese. Government assessment states that 20% of the Chinese people are overweight while 10% are considered obese. While the government may have a strict method to reach these figures, they state that the problem is worse in larger urban areas. Tea drinking is a fine tradition in China. It is more often a ritual that has been practiced for thousands of years. Slimming tea is known to provide the body with anti-oxidants that help to control free radicals doing harm to the cell structure of the body. Being healthier is the way to increase activity and thereby loose weight. The combination of good food, herbal slimming tea and activity is a sure way to naturally return to a proper proportion of weight and height.
